MECHATRONICS ENGINEER (M/F/X)

When a job requires a combination of mechanical engineering and electronics, it's time to call a mechatronics engineer! This is a profession with excellent future prospects. Modern production operations are dependent on experts who understand mechanical and electrical engineering and are capable of bringing the two worlds together. From drive systems to control engineering and from digital processes to turning and soldering, this is a role that requires well-rounded skills to tackle a variety of fascinating tasks.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR APPRENTICESHIP:
- Duration: 3.5 years
- The theoretical part of your training will take place in blocks at the Offenburg vocational school for technical and industrial trades
- You will receive your core electrical and metalworking training in our apprentice workshop, plus specialised vocational training and thorough exam preparation
- You will learn to install, assemble and commission modules and mechatronic systems
- Your tasks will also include maintaining and servicing machinery and systems
- You will carry out in-depth projects both individually and as part of a group (e.g. developing a mobile phone loudspeaker)
- You will follow a personalised rotation plan that takes you through different departments (e.g. maintenance, customer service and our production department)
- The programme will include additional training and specialised courses covering topics such as pneumatics and CNC
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE:
- An interest in the interplay between mechanical and electronic systems
- The ability to maintain focus and approach tasks in a logical, systematic way
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency in mathematics and physics
- Proficiency in English (advantageous)
- Good team player with meticulous attention to detail
- An eagerness to continuously develop new skills
- Good secondary school qualifications or a certificate from a vocational school specialising in electrical engineering

If you’re keen to continue down this path after completing your apprenticeship, there are plenty of options available.
You could obtain further qualifications as a technician, foreman or technical specialist, or embark on a further degree programme in a technical field.
