INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICIAN (M/F/X)

Electrical energy forms the basis of modern production – without it, the lights would quite literally go out. You will provide the spark to ensure a constant flow of energy at MEIKO. As an industrial electrician you will take on a variety of tasks, from installing systems to checking and verifying them. In addition, you will ensure that our machines remain in proper working order and elaborate new, efficient solutions as part of a team.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR APPRENTICESHIP:

  • Duration: 2 years
  • You will spend one and a half days a week at the Offenburg vocational school for technical and industrial trades, where the theoretical part of your training will take place
  • You will receive your core electrical and metalworking training in our apprentice workshop, plus specialised vocational training and thorough exam preparation
  • Following these initial courses, you will rotate through various production departments at MEIKO, gaining practical experience in areas where you may be employed after successfully completing your apprenticeship
  • You will learn to install, assemble and commission modules and electrical systems
  • The programme will include training and specialised courses in control technology, compact programmable logic controllers and other relevant topics

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • A genuine interest in electrical and electronic systems
  • Good manual skills
  • A keen interest in mathematics and physics
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • A good secondary school leaving certificate or a certificate from a vocational school specialising in metal technology

You could obtain further qualifications as an electronics technician, foreman or technical specialist, or embark on a further degree programme in a technical field.
