ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN FOR OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (M/F/X)
Electrical energy forms the basis of modern production – without it, the lights would quite literally go out. You will provide the spark to ensure a constant flow of energy at MEIKO. As an Electronics Technician for Operational Technology, you will take on a variety of tasks, from installing systems to checking and verifying them. In addition, you will ensure that our machines remain in proper working order and elaborate new, efficient solutions as part of a team.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR APPRENTICESHIP:
- Duration: 3.5 years
- You will spend one and a half days a week at the Offenburg vocational school for technical and industrial trades, where the theoretical part of your training will take place
- In the first four months of your apprenticeship, you will receive comprehensive introductory training in metalworking and electrical systems in our apprenticeship workshop
- Following these initial courses, you will rotate through various departments, gaining practical experience in areas where you may be employed after successfully completing your apprenticeship
- Specialised vocational training and intensive exam preparation take place in-house at MEIKO
- You will carry out in-depth projects both individually and as part of a group
- The programme will include training and specialised courses covering topics such as electro-pneumatics, control technology (PLC) and other relevant subjects
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE:
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with electrical systems
- Technical interest and aptitude
- Good manual skills and practical ability
- Strong teamwork skills and a friendly attitude towards others
- A strong sense of responsibility, patience, and attention to detail
- A keen interest in mathematics and physics
- At minimum, good secondary school qualifications or a certificate from a vocational school specialising in electrical engineering

If you’re keen to continue down this path after completing your apprenticeship, there are plenty of options available.
You could obtain further qualifications as a foreman or technical specialist, or embark on a further degree programme in a technical field.
