CONSTRUCTION MECHANIC (M/F/X)

Working with a wide range of materials including stainless steel and non-ferrous metals, you will be responsible for creating containers, machine housings, panelling and subassemblies. This will involve using the full spectrum of modern technologies such as milling, folding, punching and welding as well as the very latest machining technologies including CNC-controlled laser, punching and bending machines. As a construction mechanic you can expect to encounter new, challenging tasks every single day – and your future prospects are excellent. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR APPRENTICESHIP:
- Duration: 3.5 years
- The theoretical part of your training will take place in blocks at the vocational school in Offenburg
- During your core metalworking training in our dedicated apprentice workshop, you will develop a number of essential skills that you can apply as you rotate through our production departments
- Comprehensive exam preparation will also take place in MEIKO's apprentice workshop
- You will learn metal forming techniques using both manual tools and CNC-controlled machinery
- You will undertake a range of projects
- You will learn different welding methods and apply these directly to products
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE ROLE:
- Enthusiasm for working with technology and assembling modules
- A meticulous and precise approach to your work
- Good mathematical abilities
- The ability to work as part of a team
- An interest in different machining methods
- An eagerness to continuously develop new skills
- A secondary school leaving certificate or a certificate from a vocational school specialising in metal technology

HOW YOUR CAREER CAN PROGRESS:
If you’re keen to continue down this path after completing your apprenticeship, there are plenty of options available.
You could obtain further qualifications as a technician, foreman or technical specialist, or embark on a further degree programme in a technical field.
